Blank MapWe downloaded a free blank map with country outlines. We color and label each country as we learn about it with a color the kids thing fits the country. There are lots of free choices online, but here is the one we chose.

Book CoverGrab a piece of Card Stock or computer paper and make a cover for a book about the world. We made these after learning about several countries so that Quinn & Hayden knew what we were doing. For little artists, this is a great way to express creativity. I plan to make this spiral bound someday, but a paperclip is holding it all together for now!

Fact SheetsAfter each lesson, Quinn and Hayden label a piece of paper with the country name and write down their favorite facts about the country. For Kindergarten level it's at least 1 fact and for Third grade, at least 3 facts. It's a space for writing practice, creativity, and comprehension from the lesson. Often, the silliest thing stands out the most!
